As a non-vegetarian, you’d probably be well aware of the joys of the good food. Tender succulent pieces of juicy meat at the end of a stressful and exhausting day is just what the doctor orders. Add to that some cold drink on the side, and you've got yourself what can best be described as sumptuous.
The best part about this cuisine is the almost never-ending supply of dishes that can be enjoyed. From steaks to burgers, meat is undoubtedly multi-talented and does justice to all that it’s served with. But when it comes to the real MVP on this side of the menu card, it's hard to argue with the fact that Indian kebabs are the true champions. And it gets even better at the house of kebab.
Indian cuisine also does justice to the meat lovers by offering a plethora of options for every mood.
Some ideas to explore next time you're going meat hunting
Probably the reigning champion of all time, this is a dish loved by all those who have tried it. Tender pieces of a kebab mixed with some spice gravy and served with a special Indian bread called Tandoori Roti is a dish bound to keep you coming back for more.
If you don’t really fancy the chunks of chicken for some reason, then there’s an alternative. A Kofta is a chicken meatball made of Minced chicken. Again served in gravy, it’s the perfect alternative to the aforementioned dish.
A dish with rather weirdly spelled words, this dish is for those who want to walk the extra mile towards spicy land. Pieces of chicken prepared with extra chilies to light a fire on your tongue, this dish is hot enough to open your eyes and ears and make your senses much clearer.
Now when your inner meat-eater isn’t satisfied with the regular tender chicken and wants something a bit more challenging, why not treat yourself to some lamb? Mutton or lamb meat is made as kebabs and served, to give you the extra chew every time you take a bite.
A dish that is every bit as filling as it sounds, this is a special gravy based dish served with lamb. The grave is prepared with some hot spices and herbs and the lamb is cooked like a kebab. Compliment it with some Indian bread of your choice and you'll be smacking your chops asking for seconds
The dish that brought the house down, Tandoori Tikka just like it’s family Butter Chicken, is an exquisite Indian dish. Kept dry instead of adding with gravy for those who would like to keep their fingers clean, this chicken is made in a traditional Indian oven called a Tandoor. Served with some cool mint chutney, it’s a tantalizing option you should definitely not miss out on
These are some ideas for you to try the next time your inner meat-eater is looking for Indian restaurant Somerville.

Read moreThe kebab was, at the time, just meat sprinkled with salt, which was then barbecued and gobbled up by this army on the move. But soon it caught the fancy of Indian chefs. And by their very capable hands, the kebab was perfected into a sublime art. They choose the finest meats, created an amazing array of marinades in which these meats were transformed into savory goodness. Cooking was now also improved.
Best Naan that I have ever had. Food was kick ass. 20-25 min walk from Porter or Davis square. Worth the walk. We even got extra rice for free ( didn't ask for it, they just gave it because they saw that we were low!). Rice does come with the curry. Go!
Andrew FranklinDelicious..., I went 100s of time to house of kebab, service is excellent..n whenever I order, every time they serve something extra n special as a complementary. Peter BellyThis was the best Indian food I've had this year. It's fresh and freshly made and it's December. Come without expectations for service and get the garlic naan. The food comes to you as it comes. It's your job to enjoy it.
SmithExcellent food and service. Very fresh and cooked to order--I have dined only for dinner so far. Best Indian food I have had in 30 years. Very generous portions. I plan to eat here regularly. The breads are superb. The vegetable biryani is filled with fresh vegetables and comes with delicious raita, yogurt. Can't wait to return this coming week. Bravo!!
BellyFood was good both waiters are respectful and I have gotten extra rice and food was served quickly.
